Renart Surface Roll

Renart Surface Roll

Renart Surface Roll makes any object roll the way it physically would — the rotation is derived from the distance actually travelled, never keyed by hand. Wheels and cylinders, free-tumbling rocks and balls, terrain following, contact squash, banking, and manual spin, all solved for you.

Work as a live preview you can scrub and play, then bake clean animation curves you can hand off. Roll on any mesh or a flat plane, follow loops and walls with closest-surface detection — even when the ground itself moves, spins or deforms under the object — and flatten the contact patch against the ground with an animatable sink. Build a controller rig in one click, or drive your own rig directly.

Single file, pure Python, no external dependencies. Maya 2023–2027.
